Hello, hello, hello, fashionistas and jewelry lovers! Today, y’all are in for a special treat!  Why, you ask?  Well, I have an ever so fabulous interview with amazing jewelry artist Sofi Moukidou!

Sofi creates breathtaking pieces that can easily fit into any girls wardrobe! F rom funky arm candy to spectacular statement necklaces, Sofi Moukidou Jewellery has it all!  So, without further ado, I present to y’all the VIP’s interview with terrific jewelry maker, Sofi Moukidou!

12

  • Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a 27 year old jewelry artisan and fashion blogger living in Thessaloniki, Greece.  I love everything related to art, fashion, crafts, vintage and traveling.  I also love cooking; however, I’m still working on it!  I have studied economics, but I never truly loved it.  I started making jewelry about eight years ago.  The driving force for that occupation [jewelry making] was my love for art and fashion.  For the last two years, making jewelry has been my main job.  I still cannot believe what I was dreaming of as a little girl has actually become reality!

xezwu3742

  • How would you describe your personal style?

Mmm…I can’t describe it with only one word…my outfits depend on my mood!  I love retro style, hippie, and sometimes minimal.  I love Aztec prints, geometric prints, polka dots, stripes, colors and bold jewelry.  I really enjoy mixing and matching different styles!

18

  • When you are not making jewelry, what do you enjoy doing?

Too many things!  First of all, I enjoy going out with my friends for drinks, coffee, and so forth.  I love to write my blog Style En Mi Opinion[http://styleenmiopinion.blogspot.com/]!  I also write for other blogs and magazines.  I am a fashion writer for four blogs in my city.  I enjoy dancing, even alone at home!  I like to go in flea markets and discover little treasures.  Finally, I looove shopping!  Is there anyone who doesn’t?

8

  • Tell us about your blog, Style En Mi Opinion.

My blog, Style En Mi Opinion, recently turned three years old.  It’s a way for me to express my style, personality, and passion about style and fashion.  My blog is also a way to promote my creations.  I wish I could shoot better photos and have more time to write consistently.  What I love about blogging is being able to meet people from all over the world that have my same interests…I love having that connection with so many different people!  Oh!  Last, but not least, I know it sounds silly…but I LOVE WHEN I GET AWARDS! :)

15
  • Describe your typical day.

My typical day starts when I wake up at 10:00.  Then, I eat my breakfast, which is usually toast.  Next, I drink my coffee and smoke the first cigarette while I am blogging.  If I have a jewelry order, I go to my workshop and get to work!  If there is no order, I usually go out for several other obligations.  During the afternoon, I go to the coffee shop with one of my friends to chat and hang out.  When I return home, I go back to my PC.

17

  • Where are some of your favorite places to shop?

Oh, sooo many!  Let’s start with…hmm…Pull & Bear, Anthropologie, and Forever 21.   I also shop at many local boutiques and vintage bazaars.

10

  • Who or what inspired you to become a jewelry maker and fashion blogger?

Since my childhood, I have read fashion magazines–Vogue, Elle, and so forth.

I have always believed that style is what matters…not just being a fashion victim.  I have always experimented on my outfits.
As for jewelry, I am and have been obsessed with it.  I was constantly admiring all the jewelry designers…so when I was about 20 years old…with a whole closet full of accessories, I realized that is something that I really love! So,  I started making jewelry.  I am self-taught  because I believe that institutes limit the imagination.
6
  • Who or what inspires your jewelry pieces?

Oh! Inspiration is everywhere!

…from various cultures from all over the world.  For example, my summer 2012 collection was African-style inspired.

People are also a great source of inspiration!  Frida Kahlo, Iris Apfel, as also every day people’s street style.
I can also be inspired by the material itself.
  • VIP QUESTION: What is one item in your closet you could never get rid of and why?

Mmm…there are many items that I can’t rid of…

One is my Henrik Vibskov cashmere black and white coat.  It’s super stylish, comfortable and soft.  I bought it last Christmas from a wonderful boutique in Amsterdam.
556078_360965010629449_775603005_n
  • What else would you like my readers to know about you and your jewelry?

My latest obsession is the Japanese culture.  I would love to make a trip to Tokyo!

16

Oh, my goodness!  Don’t you just love learning more about jewelry artisans…I know I do!  It makes their pieces that much more fabulous and interesting!  Sofi creates such spectacular pieces of jewelry art…colorful, unique, and absolutely awesome!  Oh, aren’t y’all super ready to shop Sofi Moukidou Jewellery right now?!

A storm ‘s a brewin’…the flood waters are a risin’…the levee ‘s a breakin’…one eerie Mississippi night.  All the citizens, doctors, law enforcement, and even “the help” has fled for them higher grounds…except for one lost soul…soon to be joined by two mo’, who seems to be runnin’ toward the danger instead of aways from it… now two half brothers with the same father and totally different mothers and a show business woman transformed into a motherly bride battle it out to see who will gain control of the land.  It’s a testy scrimmage of wits, lust, and who-can-drink-who under the table…these three characters are racing against time.

The waters keep a risin’ and so does the fear and madness amongst this disgruntled household. What will happen? Will they all make it out alive? Who will get this sacred house and land valued at more than $50,000?  You, tell me.  Go see the astonishing performance of Tennessee Williams’ Kingdom of Earth in Columbus, Mississippi, April 9-13 at 7:30pm to find out.

Miss VIP chatting with the director about how she began her start in the theatre business. I will have a VIP Interview with Director M.J. Etua on my YouTube channel soon...so, stay tuned:)

Kingdom of Earth is truly a breathtaking, twisting turn of events play written by renowned American playwright, Tennessee Williams.  Director M.J. Etua made the Tennessee Williams Tribute (TWT) proud as she took on this terrific project to portray Tennessee Williams’ vision of mass controversy set in 1960 in a rural town in the Magnolia State (Mississippi).

(From Left to Right) Sid Caradine (aka Captain Sid), M.J. Etua, Brenda Caradine, Miss VIP, and Isa Stratton Beaulieu

Isa Stratton Beaulieu (Set Design), Kay Manzilillo (Costume and Set Decor), Melissa Duncan (Props Mistress), Brenda Caradine (Producer for TWT and TWT Board Chair), Claude Simpson (Set Construction), Ed Moody (Set Construction), and Christopher Blank (Set Construction) did a spectacular job of designing and creating a set that brings the audience into the house with Chicken (David Trotter), Myrtle (Cherri Golden), and Lot (Alex Orsak) as they manipulate to determine the heir to Ravenstock Plantation.

IMG_4871

David Trotter, as Chicken, played quite the interesting character...many viewers of the play says his character's personality varried from sexy to creepy in a matter of minutes. David kept everyone on the edge of their seats as he acted out his character, Chicken in complete and utter perfection.

David Trotter plays quite the interesting and complex character-Chicken…his character’s personality goes from sexy to creepy in a matter of minutes…seconds.  His dark humor, his loneliness, and his rejection by white society leaves the viewer straddling the fence of liking him and despising him.  David’s portrayal of Chicken is complete perfection.  Bravo! Bravo!

IMG_4866

Cherri Golden, as Myrtle, shows off her mad acting skills in the performance of Kingdom of Earth. “As the character of Myrtle, Cherri is now focusing on honoring her skills in whimpering, waffling, and screaming…” (TWT pamphlet) My most memorable moment of her magnificent acting skills is the scene where they talk about “washable velvet”! Cherri Golden’s performance as Myrtle was beyond breathtaking as she was able to transist through each scene with absolute ease.  At times, I found myself unable to catch my breath…and wondering if I should invest in some small appliances….

IMG_4873

Alex Orsak, as Lot, exposed a sense of peace to the intensity of the play.  His character is just as complex and dark as that of Chicken’s.  His weakness, his illness, his paleness are stark contrasts to the attributes of Chicken.  At first meeting, Lot seems to be a charming, sophisticated, and loving young man–full of innocence and dedication to his late mother.  As the play unfolds, the viewer loses faith in Lot…and begins to pity him for not his physical illness, but mental one.  Let me just say one thing without giving away the ending…the last few moments of the play grab’s the attention!  Alex’s portrayal of Lot is stellar.  Two thumbs up and five stars!

IMG_4805

You must see this play, VIP readers! It is so fabulous that I could watch it over and over again!  My goodness!  I must stop chatting about it, or I am just going to give the entire thing away….
