Today, I had the most amazing adventure EVER! I woke up to a beautiful sunrise at the cabin, made breakfast, climbed to the tippy top (almost *wink*) of The Blowing Rock, shopped at local stores, walked the dogs at Bass Lake, and ended the day with fresh baked cookies. Phew…I am exhausted–but a happy exhausted! :)
Never have I ever spent the night in a cabin nor stood atop a mountain–it has been such a fabulously inspiring experience. As I sit on the back deck of the cabin typing this blog, I cannot find the perfect words to describe just how breathtaking today’s journey was…pictures capture most of it; however, they do not suffice being here in person…breathing in the crisp mountain air…and wondering if Home Depot can color match the lovely blue hue of the mountains in the distance *wink* Everywhere I look here [in Blowing Rock], I cannot help but think, “Wow…how amazing is our God!” Psalms 11:1
Now, I am going to make some homemade hot chocolate, prop up my feet, and possibly take a nap…a really long nap*wink* while y’all check out some of the snapshots from today’s VIP travel adventure :)
I believe I can fly…I believe I can touch the sky…*wink*It was quite blustery at the top of The Blowing Rock…*note: wear hair in a cute ponytail next time*
Selfie FAIL with my mom. It was so blustery…which made it virtually impossible to get a decent selfie*wink*; however, I thought this turned out pretty cute! Love you, Momma :)Chilling at The Blowing Rock with Grandfather Mountain and Grandmother Mountain in the background.Me being my eight year old self *wink*
I nearly gave my mom a heartattack when I insisted on climbing to the top of The Blowing Rock…Eventually, she agreed and gave me a “pep talk” all the way to the top. Don’t tell her…but I think the pep talk was more for her than me *wink*Finally…I got my mom to join me at the top and to my surprise, she actually liked it *wink*This photo explains my mom and I perfectly. She is striking a pose while I am dangerously hanging my phone off the side of The Blowing Rock to snap a photo of the “U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey Reference Mark” medallion. I will upload a photo to the Facebook page later to show y’all:)My Giant Schnauzer, Ziva, and I at Bass Lake.
Seriously, Home Depot…can you color match this? *wink*
