Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

This week on VIP Home (and the entire week on the blog), we are going for BOLD. And after many stars displayed their BOLD fashions at the Oscars last night (Hello–Jennifer Aniston!), I cannot help but want to embrace the bold *wink*

Oh, go for BOLD? Of course, yes! *claps*

Now, on this particular VIP Home post, I am going to show y’all how I transformed an old dresser drawer into a custom, one-of-a-kind shelf for my small apartment bathroom. If you would like to join in on the DIY fun, you will need the following:

  • An old, solid wood drawer (picking a size appropriate for your bathroom)
  • Decoupage glue (I used Mod Podge.)
  • A foam brush
  • Paint color of your choice
  • Scrapbooking paper in multiple patterns
  • Scissors
  • Sandpaper
First, I painted over the dark-stained drawer. I am typically a huge fan of dark stained wood; however, it did not work for the design of my bathroom. Although, I did leave a section of the stain--I liked the quirkiness.

While the paint was drying, I picked out my background paper. I decided to go with only three patterns in the same color pallete to stay with the blue/green/white theme of my bathroom. This is where I decided to go for bold!

Next, with the help of my artist mother, I arranged the background and got to decoupaging!

After letting the drawer sit overnight, my mom took a fine-grit sandpaper and roughed up paint a bit to give it a more shabby look.
