This time last week, I was on my way to host a #BelkScene event in Birmingham at the Riverchase Galleria. Ah–can I just go back *wink* I had such a magnificent time at the Saturday Scene Prom and Special Occasion event, and it was so awesome getting to help the teens with finding their perfect prom looks at Belk!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I never went to prom, BUT I did learn a lot from not attending….

Adolescence isn’t just about prom or wearing sparkly dresses.

In high school, I beat myself up about not going to prom. I felt like I was “not cool enough” and like I was “not pretty enough to be asked”. I probably wasted more time than I should have on the subject; however, looking back on my life now, I realize that I didn’t really miss out on anything! In actuality, I probably had a better time hanging out with my mom, watching Molly Ringwald movies, and eating too much junk food than I would have at prom*wink* The main thing I missed was the dressing up–which I got to do this week which was totally fun!

Okay–now that I have flashbacked to high school…let’s hop back to the present and take a laugh at some fun blooper shots from the VIP’s Prom photo shoot at Founders Park in downtown Johnson City *wink* Ah…being silly is therapeutic :)

Laugh at yourself, but don’t ever aim your doubt at yourself. Be bold. When you embark for strange places, don’t leave any of yourself safely on shore. Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory.
