AHHH! I cannot believe it–today marks the 4th year since I published my very first blog post on VIP! Happy Blogiversary to me *wink*
Now, I am going to try to keep calm because even though we need to have a virtual party…business needs to go on as normal with a fabulous Three Ways to Wear post *wink* TOMORROW THOUGH–I shall throw it back + write about four things I have learned in four years of blogging that have greatly impacted my life on and off the internet :)
So, without further ado, here is this week’s TWTWT which is all about Three Ways to Wear Rust! Ahh…such a beautiful color that makes me feel all warm and cuddly even though it’s quite chilly out *wink*
Way One:

Way Two:
Navy and rust is such a beautiful combination that adds pizzazz to the traditional professional-prep look. I think I am also going to try out this color combo with my rust maxi skirt…which just so happens to be one of the first items I wore on the blog ever. *GASP* Funny how trends recirculate *wink*
Also for this outfit, I added the navy striped socks to mix-up the basic look of a skirt, button down and pair of boots. You can try this trick with all kinds of boots and any socks your heart desires–just think outside the box and express yourself!
Shirt: J.Crew
Skirt: Forever 21
Socks: Target
Boots: Bedstu, The Gypsyspur
Way Three:
In a world where most people are afraid to mix patterns…I like to push the limits *wink* For the third outfit with the rust skirt, I decided to stay true to the warm hues while clashing different prints and styles to create a wild-card outfit.
Even though at first sight the leopard looks like it wouldn’t pair seamlessly with the bohemian shawl, when combined with the rust skirt, it all falls into place!
When mixing patterns in your own wardrobe, keep in mind the color wheel + the colors in the patterns you’re wanting to mix because this will make you a pattern-mixing pro in a snap sans all the stress. Mixing patterns isn’t nearly as difficult as some blogs and magazines make it out to be. When it comes down to it, it is all about pairing what you love together and rocking the ensemble with confidence!
Happy 4 years! It has been fun :)
