Opening Night of Independent Film La Madame & Road Trip to Mississippi

Oh, it doesn’t get much better than family and film ♥  

When I made the trip home to Mississippi for the premiere of La Madame, my family and I jammed out to cheesy country songs, ate snacks, and stopped at rest stops across the states. It is always great getting to spend time with family and seeing my grandparents–a break from the dorm life is good every now and again *wink*

Hats Off to the Grad! | The VIP Graduates from Northeast State Community College

The last few weeks have been absolutely CRAZY because of final projects and exams; however, all of the hard work, tears, and late night coffee runs finally paid off! *wink*

Last night, I graduated cum laude with an Associate of Science in Broadcasting from Northeast State Community College, and I am excited to say that PHASE ONE IS COMPLETE! *major happy dance* Phase Two begins in August at Emory & Henry College….How does that make you feel, Abby? Excited, nervous, and slightly freaked out–all at the same time *wink* 

Now, that’s enough college talk–let’s talk about fashion *wink* 

Last night, I sported a killer straight-line denim dress to my graduation with nude stilettos and LOTS OF SPARKLE! Check out the photos below + get the outfit details (psstt! I also wore it another way here! Do I sense a Three Ways to Wear coming on? *wink*)

The Playoffs | A Spring Fashion Experience at ETSU by Montess Burt

IMG_0994Last night, my fabulous friend Montess Burt of MLBe Talent put on a spring fashion experience at the East Tennessee State University D.P. Culp Ballroom called The Playoffs, sponsored by the ETSU Black Affairs Association. Featuring hot name brands like Buckle, Victoria’s Secret, Charlotte Russe, and JCPenney and independent designers such as Jones’n (Chicago, IL), Tom Edna, Orshads Customs, and FaceLife–The Playoffs was an unforgettable runway show that rocked Johnson City, Tennessee!

The creator of the fashion show Montess Burt has put together nine runways over the past few years, and he is currently working on establishing his talent agency, MLBe Talent. During the final walk at the show, Montess stated, “Y’all know what I say about fashion–It’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it….MLBe is my initials; however, the ‘Be’ at the end is all about how you can ‘Be’ anything. And that’s one thing I really try to tell people when it comes to expression and fashion and talent.”

During my time at Northeast State, I have gotten to know Montess well, and he is such an inspirational person with a burning passion inside his heart. He is always pursuing and achieving big dreams and goals. Congrats on an amazing show, Monie!

Over the weekend, I attended the fabulous grand opening of Gabe’s (Gabriel Brothers Inc) in Johnson City, Tennessee. I had never stepped foot in a Gabe’s store before Saturday, and let me tell y’all–it was truly an awesome and deal-striken adventure! AHH! And it was such an unbelievable experience that I am going to share it with y’all in this special edition of the VIP Scrapbook. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the scrapbook *wink*
