For this week’s Three Ways to Wear Thursday, I want to throw it back to three ways I have worn the maroon, American Eagle, leather jacket. Now, I have obviously worn it more than three ways, but for this particular blog, I picked out three of y’all’s favorites! How fun…right?!
Now, without further delay and distraction, let’s take a look at these fabulous throwback pictures and visit the blogs for all the details!
It’s Weekly Whistle time on the blog again, which means it is time to showcase my outfit of the week…BUT before I do, I must tell y’all about my crushed dreams of hopping in Leo and driving to Brooklyn, NY while wearing my “Brooklyn” tee. Wouldn’t that have been super cool *wink*
The picture says it all. Brooklyn is a 10+ hour, 635 mile drive from apartment, and I was going to go into this elaborate explanation on how much it would cost and how many times I would need to refuel Leo before reaching my destination; however, I suck at math. #IAmNotAMathMajor
Now that we have discussed my crushed dreams of driving to Brooklyn and my lacking of math skills, let’s take a look at this week’s Weekly Whistle outfit details *wink*

Phew….it is already Wednesday, really?! This week is really flying by! Oh, I cannot wait for the Fourth of July festivities on Friday…and apparently neither can my neighbors because they have been shooting fireworks from late afternoon until midnight…since Monday. *wink* Oh, I am lacking some serious sleep…I think I need another Starbucks run *wink*
Anyway…we are not here to discuss my neighbors and their celebrating–we are here to chat about this week’s Weekly Whistle! Whoo hoo!
This week’s Weekly Whistle is all about leopard…meow! Typically a fall pattern because of its warm earth-tones, leopard has surprised us all by popping into our summer wardrobes – from blouses to swimsuits! To read more about leopard + tidbits of the pattern’s history + fashion tips, check out my latest edition of The Adventures of the VIP on Real Media here.
Now, let’s check out the outfit details!

*BLOOPER* Photographer: Act a little tough–give me a tough-girl pose. Me: *poses as pictured* Photographer: *laughs* That was not tough…that was sassy. Me: I like being sassy *wink*
Yesterday, I attended freshman orientation at Northeast State Community College in Blountville, Tennessee, and it was absolutely amazing! I got my fall term schedule…my student ID…and a microwave from my mom and dad for tackling orientation sans parents.
The Northeast State Blountville campus is so beautiful and full of wonderful professors + it has a killer Mass Communications and Theater department…the more I talk about it, the more excited I become. Whoo hoo–E! News or Vogue here I come *wink*
Okay, that is enough college chat–there will be plenty of time for that once fall term rolls around *wink* Now, let’s take a look at the outfit details about what I wore to college orientation + why it works.
Blouse: Deep South Pout
Shorts: J.Crew, The Outlet Shops of Grand River
Belt: American Eagle
Sandals: Born, DSW (Birmingham, Alabama)
Why it works:
This outfit worked perfectly for college orientation because it was comfy yet totally cute. I could have worn Nike shorts and a tank top and would have been comfortable, BUT I wanted to make a fashionable impression. And what better way is there to do that than by dressing cutely in bright hues! *wink*
WAIT BEFORE YOU GO!

For this week’s Weekly Whistle, I am embracing my inner Amanda Seyfried from Mean Girls and wearing pink on Wednesday *wink*
Or….am I embracing my inner Molly Ringwald from Pretty In Pink? Hm…perhaps both! *wink*
Anyway…. I created this week’s Weekly Whistle outfit by shopping in my own closet and using popular items frommy30 Day J.Crew ChallengeandGrand Haul shopping series with The Outlet Shops of Grand River. I love this look because it is so fresh and fun! Oh, the bright neon pink has me craving a summer adventure…a summer adventure to a beach…or a lake…or even some place I’ve never been! *wink* Hm…while I make a Summer Bucket List of places to go….check out these outfit details:
Special Note: I am so in love with the versatility of my new haircut–big thanks to Chad Norris of Rouge Salon (Johnson City, TN) for a great cut that looks fabulous naturally curled or straightened!
