This week on VIP Beauty Tues, I am kicking off the new month with a brand new color palette. Last week on Beauty Tues, I talked about some of the crazy makeup trends for Fall 2015. If you missed my horribly hilarious application of the runway-to-real-life trends, click here–you won’t regret it *wink*
For this week on VIP Beauty Tues, I want to talk about a doable eyeliner trend–the double wing. Even though I am no makeup maven or trained artist, I was able to do this look without a lot of fussing, fighting or eye makeup remover *wink*
In my research about double-wing eyeliner, I discovered a lot of people are taking it to the next level by using different colored liners, rhinestones, and doing things that I would need a stencil for *wink* BUT as most of you Beauty Tues followers know, the whole idea behind VIP Beauty Tues is to make beauty easy and doable because in the real world, we have bigger things about which to worry like getting to work on time or acing an exam. SO, below, you will find some nifty tricks on how to ace double-wing eyeliner + I spill the beans about my favorite liquid eyeliner that is cheap, but it works like a dream ♥
♦ Prime your eyes first: Through lots of trial and error, I found out that using an eyeshadow primer all over the lid (or areas in which liner will be applied) helps in creating the perfect wing or cateye. It also acts as “insurance”–keeping your beautiful wings looking perfect all day sans smudging or smearing. My eyeshadow primer preference is the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potionhere.
♦ Get close to the mirror (or use a compact): This might be a “duh” for some of us; however, I have learned the power of getting up close and personal with my bathroom mirror in my experimenting with different eyeliner tricks *wink* We beauty queens will do whatever it takes to have the straightest and perfectly winged eyeliner *fist in air*
♦ Find your liner-mate: This is CRUCIAL! With soooo many different liquid and pencil eyeliners on the market it can be a bit challenging to pick which best suits your needs. So, go to your local drug store, Sephora, or Ulta and pick a few different ones to try. Don’t fall for the ol’ brand-name trick with this one because the most expensive just might not be the best. In my case, I tried some of the most expensive liquid liners, but fell head-over-heels for the Sephora brand long-lasting 12HR Wear eyeliner (and it’s only $12 *GASP*). Check out it out below:
From getting my body and beauty bag beach/pool ready to dressing totally nautical chic–I am on a HUGE SUMMER kick this week *wink*
So, for this week’s VIP Beauty Tues, I printed out some beachy items to tape in my VIP Beauty Journal. Who needs a Pinterest board when I can have fun cutting and taping *wink* If I had beach-themed or nautical-themed washi tape…I would have gussied up Entry 4 a little more, but I used clear glitter polish instead *wink*
Take a look at the VIP Beauty Journal entry below + be sure to share your Beach/Pool Ready Nautical Chic Beauty Journal entry with the VIP Team by using #VIPBeautyJournal on Twitter and Instagram and by tagging Vintage Inspired Passionista Blog on Facebook! You might get featured on the blog–how cool would that be?! *gasp*
Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to Beauty Tues.
If your days are anything like mine, they all seem to run together…which leaves a small window of time for pampering *sad face* So, with what little free time I had this weekend, I visited my local Sally’s Beauty Supply and picked up some quick, at-home mani/pedi tools. Doing my mani/pedis at home will not only save me time, but it is also more sanitary–yes, I am one of those clean-freaks who is very peculiar about where she gets her nails done *wink* I have a list of great places in my hometown and Birmingham, but I have not had time to find one here in my new city of Johnson City. If anyone has any suggestions, drop me an email *wink*
Note: Be sure to come back next week for a post about other nail and hand care products because VIP Beauty Tues November is all about NAILS! :)
