Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to Beauty Tues.
This week on VIP Beauty Tues, I want to share with y’all a super fabulous 2-in-1 makeup look for the college campus with Bobbi Brown beauty specialist Becca Sammis at Saks Fifth Avenue Birmingham.
Look 1: “This look is perfect for day-time activities on campus. It is fresh looking and easy to do, but it is also flirty and age-appropriate,” explains Becca Sammis.
“Creating a natural yet sassy eye is simple. On Abby, I used Bobbi’s Metallic Eye Shadow in Champagne Quartz and Burnt Sugar. These pretty shades will make creating the second look [the smokey eye] super easy. I also lined the eye with the Bobbi Brown long wear gel liner in Black Ink.”http://instagram.com/p/qfBmqAtJtd/?modal=true
For the lips (see video above)–Becca Sammis punched up the simple day-time look with a pinky lip…and being the lipstick addict that I am, I totally adore it! It’s so fun and so effortless!
Look 2: “This makeup look is great for nigh-time events. Rather than worrying about making time to take off all of your day-time makeup, I created this smokey-eye look by building on the [first] look,” explains Becca Sammis“You can really see how big of a difference a darker shade of eye shadow makes…it turned the day look into a smokey eye without a lot of time and energy. So many people think achieving a smokey eye look is really hard, when in all actuality, you just need varying shadow shades, a black [eye] liner, and a great brush–oh, and some under-eye concealer for touch ups,” says Becca Sammis.
“When going with a smokey-eye, it is very important to play down your lips. For an easy way to achieve a natural-looking lip with a bit of color, I recommend using one of Bobbi’s lip pencils. They come in a variety of colors and are easy to toss in your bag and go.”LOVE this color–don’t y’all? *wink* It is so simple…yet so chic!“Also for night time, add a bit of bronzer to the face for a sun-kissed glimmer that looks great when the lights go down.”Who would have thought that creating two makeup looks–one for day and one for night–could be so easy! Thank you, Becca Sammis, for opening up my eyes to the fabulous versatility of Bobbi Brown products! You’re the best!

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome to this week’s Beauty Tues!
Summer is here, and with it comes hot and humid weather…which is, of course, not suitable for the usual dark eye shadows and heavy makeup. So…what do we girls do? We love wearing makeup and feeling pretty no matter the season! Oh, ladies, take a deep breath! It is all going to be okay because I have 5 easy steps + products to make fresh and simple makeup looks a breeze!
Now, let’s take a look at what we will need to get started…
What you will need:
Keep scrolling to see the products I use to complete this look. P.S. I love them!
Pale pink eye shadow (shimmer is optional)
Grey eyeliner (light brown also works well–but NO BLACK)
Basic black mascara (light/relaxed hold–this is NOT the time to use a super-mega, lash-boosting mascara)
Peach blush (peach-toned blushes with a combined bronzer gives cheeks a sun-kissed feel)
Light pink or nude lipstick (look for lipsticks or glosses that have a bit of shine)
Products I use:
Color Designby Lancome in Off The Rack Metallic (light pink)
The 5 Steps to achieve this look + application details:
One thing I love about this look is that it is not only perfect for summer and campus in the fall, but it is also fabulous for pre-teens and makeup newbies!
*Apply foundation or tinted moisturizer as normal*
*For tips on finding your perfect foundation color + nifty tricks on how to apply and hide blemishes, check out the VIP videohere*
Apply pale pink eye shadow all over each lid with a large shadow brush. (I recommend Lancome’s “All Over Shadow” brushhere)
Line each top eyelid with light grey eyeliner just enough to define the shape of the eyes. An easy trick to mastering subtle eyeliner is to take your time and follow as close to the upper lash line as possible.
Lightly coat lashes with black mascara and use an eyelash curler–if desired.
Dust the apples of your cheeks (make a fishy face…there ya’ go…now, see those pretty apples *wink*) with peach, bronzer-infused blush with a medium-sized “fluffy” brush or blush brush. (I recommend this onefrom Sephora.) After applying color to the apples of the cheeks, lightly blend the color along the cheekbone to achieve a sun-kissed look. *NOTE: The key to blush is starting light with color and working up to the desired depth of hue.
Apply light pink/nude lipstick as normal and add a sparkling or clear gloss for more shimmer.
BONUS! Steal the VIP’s fav summer nail polish! It’s Orly Nail Lacquer in “Hot Shot” avaliable at Sally’s Beauty Supply or online here.

The VIP at the Bobbi Brown event at Saks Fifth Avenue Birmingham’s beauty week.
Hello, my fabulouses! I had such a wonderful time at the Birmingham Saks Fifth Avenue Bobbi Brown Beauty Team Event with National MUA Carrie Wilson. Oh, my fashionistas, Bobbi Brown makeup is so fresh and clean–I absolutely love it!
The VIP chatting with MUA Carrie Wilson at Saks Fifth Avenue Birmingham.
At the event, I had the pleasure of meeting MUA Carrie Wilson. I was so spectacularly excited as Carrie dolled me up with the popular smokey eye. “At Bobbi, we are all about teaching you how to be your own makeup artist,” explained Wilson as she was showing me how to add some pizzazz to my daily eye makeup routine. “The smokey-eye is pretty easy…I did not use a ton of products on you, and that is what Bobbi is all about…I certainly love the smokey-eye, and with the products I used on you today, you will be able to go home and repeat it yourself.”
Abby: What is your favorite product?
Carrie: I have a lot of favorites; however, my latest favorite is theBrightening Brick Compactbecause it looks good on everyone! It takes the lines out of the blush and gives the skin a nice, smooth, airbrush finish. I also love our gel eyeliners! Oh, I cannot forget about our foundations! They [the foundations] are great because they look like skin–not like makeup.
When it comes to trying out new makeup trends, I tend to be a little iffy about doing it myself. If you have ever watched the GoGurt commercial where the mom scares her kids with her overdone smokey-eye, you will understand why the VIP is a bit wary!
Well, I NEVER want to look like that and scare my precious furbaby, Ziva…
Super big thanks to Carrie Wilson and her lovely tips because I now feel more confident with doing the smokey eye trend!

The fun did not stop there! I dropped by the ReVive counter where I spoke with Peggy Lee about the fabulous products that the line has to offer for all ages. “ReVive is a great alternative to Botox treatments or going under the knife…We offer products to moisturize and tighten/firm the skin as well as treatment for acne prone skin…the ReVive line is truly amazing,” explained Peggy Lee at Saks Fifth Avenue.
I am currently trying out the ReVive Acne Reparatif treatment gel. Stay tuned to the blog every Tuesday for Beauty Tues where I will talk about all things VIP beauty!
Saks Fifth Avenue Birmingham is such a fabulous place. At beauty week, I learned so much and met so many super sweet people. I was truly amazed at the wide array of makeup, fragrance, and skincare S5A Birmingham offers. Oh, my! Two stories of superb apparel, handbags, makeup, fragrance, and skincare…it does not get much better than that! Head on over to S5A Birmingham for a terrific shopping experience.
One thing I have started to do is invest in myself by buying good quality makeup and skincare products. My mom has always told me to invest in my appearance because I will not be young forever. So, I have made it my mission to take care of my skin from every aspect–whether it is with fabulous makeup like Bobbi Brown or with skincare products like ReVive, it is important to invest in yourself…keeping yourself beautiful while feeling beautiful…at the same time!
Hello, my fabulouses! I attended the most fantastically fabulous bloggers breakfast this morning at Saks Fifth Avenue in Birmingham, Alabama! While at the breakfast, I learned about some hot beauty trends for Fall 2013…oh, a fashionista can never have too many fall fashion pieces and makeup ideas!
S5A’s beauty specialists Tamarous Reynolds and Kimberly Crawford showed us how to MASTER THE LOOK with some of fall’s hottest makeup trends like phenombre lip and the nymph glow. Can you guess who the model for the event was? The VIP’s MOM! Ahh, it was so awesome getting to see my mom dolled up by S5A Birmingham’s makeup gurus!
Due to the fact that my mom has a strict “no photo” policy…I only have this one “mom approved” photo to show y’all. Notice that she is barely in it.Peek inside the most fabulous swag bag. Kudos to you, Saks Fifth Avenue Birmingham!Loved these glamorous cookies inside the S5A swag bag! The Icing on the Cookie bakery did an absolutely fabulous job! www.icingonthecookie.netOne of my favorite items in the goody bag–the “Weekend Eye & Cheek Palette” by Bobbi Brown.
This fabulous sample of Guerlain Rouge G is so terrifically amazing. I think I am in love….I love bubbles. Always have, always will…and when I discovered that there were “perfumed bubbles” by L’Eau De Chloe, I was immediately intrigued… Me: “Mom, there are scented, ‘big-girl’ bubbles in this swag bag.” Mom: “Abby…do not blow those bubbles inside.”Oh…bubbles are so much fun!
