Ya know…there is just something about leopard that makes a fashionista feel fabulous and fearless. It stands out in a crowd, it pairs elegantly with pops of color, and it can be a real wild card when combined with other patterns. (See this week’s #VIPMixItMonday on Instagram.)
I found this lovely, little leopard dress at Monkee’s of Johnson City while on a local shopping adventure, and needless to say, I fell head-over-heels for its wear-ability and versatility. So, for this week’s Weekly Whistle, I am sporting it with a sweet lace under-dress, handmade accessories, and my favorite handbag of ALL TIME *wink*
Check out the photos below taken in awesome downtown Johnson City + be sure to check out Monkee’s of Johnson City on Facebook and Instagram for the latest trends!
Last weekend, I attended my first ever calligraphy class at Reclaimed Inspired Goods in downtown Johnson City with Winsome Workshop by Winsome Easel owner Kristin Hornstein. It was so much fun, and I have practiced almost everyday since! Oh–y’all! Kristin has given me the technique + confidence to better my calligraphy while also developing my own unique style. I cannot wait until Winsome Workshop comes back to Johnson City because I will definitely be checking my calendar to attend *wink*
Check out all the awesome things Kristin does on Winsome Easel. Y’all, her work is breathtaking! Also, look to see if she has a workshop coming up near you *wink* Click here.
Also over the weekend…
I created and listed some new handmade goodies in my Etsy shop. Check out some of my favorites below!
Now…the VIP needs YOUR help!
As I am looking to expand and better my Etsy shop, I want to know what YOU want to see! More upcycled/vintage necklaces, specific colors, different stones, etc etc. Please comment on blog post or email here.
One of my resolutions for 2016 is to get back to my blog roots by buying and wearing more vintage, and while on a recent photo shoot with my dear friend Andrew of Snapshot Avenue, I found this AH-MAZING vintage gem at Jonesborough Antiques & Artisans. This 1980s, gold, sequined jacket/dress is an absolute power-piece, and I am tempted to slap the VIP logo on the back and wear it all of the time *wink* Oh. My. Goodness. I love sparkle…and especially vintage sparkles *wink*
This stately frock is so gold that it reminds me of one of my favorite James Bond movies, Goldfinger! Now, as you take a gander at this week’s fabulous Weekly Whistle, listen to this killer Shirley Bassey Bond theme song and get inspired to wear more gold, vintage and sequins*wink*
We have been hit with yet another snowstorm, which left me scraping 6 inches of snow off my car this morning + shoveling a driveway for the first time in my life *wink*
Even though I am not a huge fan of the snow, it does make for some pretty fabulous photos…especially at the beautiful Founders Park in downtown Johnson City! Now, while I go warm my toes by the heater, y’all take a look at this week’s Weekly Whistle! To stay updated on my snowpocalypse fun, check out my Twitter feed below. :)
It’s HUMP DAY…yeah…*Geico camel voice* which means it is time to reveal the VIP outfit of the week! Woop! Woop! *wink*
As I have shared on my VIP Facebook page and Twitter account, I was featured in the Johnson City Press. It was such an honor to be interviewed by senior reporter Becky Campbell, and I love the photos Becky took of me in the downtown area. I love the photos + the outfit SO much that I decided to make it this week’s Weekly Whistle! Yay! Check out the photos + details below:
