Weekly Whistle: All About Sunglasses

Hello, fabulous! It is that time of the week again on the VIP blog, and y’all know what that means–WEEKLY WHISTLE! Yay! This week’s Weekly Whistle is all about snazzy sunglasses. Every fashionista and fashionado needs AT LEAST ONE PAIR of sunnies for all occasions! Hm…I wonder what style of sunglasses I will add to my collection?

As I dream up my next pair of sunglasses, why don’t y’all enjoy this week’s Weekly Whistle! Remember, it is all about the fantabulous sunglasses!

Join me for a fabulous fashion show presented by Birmingham-based novelist Liza Elliott! There will be hot summer apparel from local stores and fashion shows every hour on the hour at The Summit Club in downtown Birmingham. Great local food trucks will be serving up the cuisine as we enjoy all of the fashion shows. Tickets purchased will benefit Glenwood Autism and Behavioral Health Center.

Weekly Whistle: ’64 Skylark, Baby!

Hello, hello, hello, my fantastically fabulous fashionistas! I am going to jump right to the chase with this week’s Weekly Whistle…because I absolutely ADORE the photo “prop” and the flowy summer shorts from three07! Oh, the 1964 Buick Skylark in a dreamy cobalt blue hue made for truly perfect photos….mmhmm…..it does not get much better than vintage rides and fabulous fashions! All I can say is ’64 Skylark, baby…1964 Skylark, baby!

Memorial Day 2013

Today is the beloved day we all call Memorial Day. The day where we should be remembering the fallen and honoring the true American heroes. Have we stayed true to the real meaning of Memorial Day? That is my question.

I was in a hurry on my way home yesterday when I passed by an elderly man on the side of the road holding a cardboard sign that read, “Hungry homeless veteran soldier”. I nearly burst into tears…All I could think about was why was that soldier homeless? Where is the love? Why have so many veterans been ignored…pushed to the side…and forgotten?

It seems that in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives that we forget those who served our country…we forget those who jeopardized their lives to protect our freedom…we forget how many good men and women lost their lives defending our nation…BUT today, let us remember them. Let us remember the heroic men and women who have fallen in the line of duty. Let us be thankful for our amazing armed forces and praise them for their brave actions. Let us stay true to the real meaning of Memorial Day.
