My grandmother and her family are from Alabama…my parents married in Alabama…I met the band members of Lynyrd Skynyrd as a kid while vacationing in Alabama–and I even had the great pleasure of living in The Magic City for a few years. No matter where I may roam, I will always see Alabama as home sweet home. So, when the Alabama Tourism Department reached out to me about their fabulous Alabama Road Trip giveaway–I just knew that I had to share it with y’all!

The Alabama Tourism Department has recently announced a six-week Road Trip Giveaway with chances to win travel packages to Gulf Shores, Mobile, Huntsville, the Shoals, Birmingham and Montgomery. Weekly Whistle: No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn (OOTD)

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

It’s Weekly Whistle time on the blog again, which means it is time to showcase my outfit of the week…BUT before I do, I must tell y’all about my crushed dreams of hopping in Leo and driving to Brooklyn, NY while wearing my “Brooklyn” tee. Wouldn’t that have been super cool *wink*

The picture says it all. Brooklyn is a 10+ hour, 635 mile drive from apartment, and I was going to go into this elaborate explanation on how much it would cost and how many times I would need to refuel Leo before reaching my destination; however, I suck at math. #IAmNotAMathMajor

Now that we have discussed my crushed dreams of driving to Brooklyn and my lacking of math skills, let’s take a look at this week’s Weekly Whistle outfit details *wink*

Weekly Whistle: College Orientation Outfit + Beauty Giveaway

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

Yesterday, I attended freshman orientation at Northeast State Community College in Blountville, Tennessee, and it was absolutely amazing! I got my fall term schedule…my student ID…and a microwave from my mom and dad for tackling orientation sans parents.

The Northeast State Blountville campus is so beautiful and full of wonderful professors + it has a killer Mass Communications and Theater department…the more I talk about it, the more excited I become. Whoo hoo–E! News or Vogue here I come *wink*

Okay, that is enough college chat–there will be plenty of time for that once fall term rolls around *wink* Now, let’s take a look at the outfit details about what I wore to college orientation + why it works.

Blouse: Deep South Pout

Shorts: J.Crew, The Outlet Shops of Grand River

Belt: American Eagle

Sandals: Born, DSW (Birmingham, Alabama)

Why it works:

This outfit worked perfectly for college orientation because it was comfy yet totally cute. I could have worn Nike shorts and a tank top and would have been comfortable, BUT I wanted to make a fashionable impression. And what better way is there to do that than by dressing cutely in bright hues! wink
