Beauty Tues: Get the Look featuring Oh-So-Orange Lips

IMG_5843

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to Beauty Tues.

This week, we are going to chat about how the VIP achieved her makeup look from the Frugal Friday: Military Meets Floral blog post featuring oh-so-orange lips. Come on, let’s get the look!

With the unofficial start of summer underway, every fashionista is looking to punch up her beauty routine–whether it be with new lipsticks, eye shadow palettes, or simple skincare change-ups. The VIP’s big beauty change-up for this summer is adding trendy, bright lipstick shades to my daily makeup routine of sweet and simple eye shadow + black or dark gray eyeliner, and light-rose colored blush. So, I stepped out on a limb that was not classic red with my first summery lip hue, which is a  fun shade of orange–Gypsy by Guerlain. OH. MY. GOODNESS! When I wear Gypsy, I crave adventure and sunshine *wink*

Although the idea of a bright orange lip sounds a bit scary, it is rather quite fabulous! With the variety of  shades out there in Beautyland, you are sure to find the perfect one for your skin tone. Me–I am bit pale complected, so I tend to lean towards pure oranges and bright oranges–those medium tones and almost nude oranges make me look a bit sick. To help you find your perfect orange lipstick, check out this useful article in Harper’s Bazaar!

Now, I want to give y’all a little sneaky peeky of the lipstick brands that will be featured on the VIP March Madness Selfie Series–Chanel, Lancome, Guerlain, and more! Speaking of Guerlain…Did you know that Fiat and Guerlain partnered to create 250 limited edition Fiat 500/500Cs inspired by Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noire perfume? OMG…I think I am in love. When purchasing  one of the limited edition Fiats, buyers will also get a Guerlain makeup kit, 100 mL of La Petite Robe Noire, 30 mL of Velvet Body Milk, black mascara, nail lacquer, and Teracotta 4 Seasons in Tint Nude powder. Oh, this is so perfect…I love Fiat and Guerlain! Could it get any better? I am pretty sure I have found my dream car; however, these limited edition Fiats have been designed exclusively for the French market *sad face* A girl can dream…right?

Now, let’s get down to the nitty gritty with some awesome lip tips from the fabulous makeup experts at Saks Fifth Avenue Birmingham!

1.  Apply bold or dark lipsticks with a lip brush to help prevent the color from bleeding. No one likes lipstick bleeding…yuck.

2.  Nude lips are like pearls–they go with everything; however, finding a nude lipstick shade that flatters your skin color is key. If you are unsure which nude hues work for you, ask a makeup specialist :)

3.  There are so many different shades of lipstick out there, so why should we limit ourselves to just one or two? Hm…we shouldn’t! Branch out and buy that orange lipstick you have been fan girling over in the latest issue of InStyle! Tell yourself YOU CAN work that color–just imagine the office hallways as runways…you got this! *fist in the air*

Daring To Be Different

IMG_0001

Hello, fabulouses, today I would like to introduce the new VIP motto, ” Be Daring. Be Fabulous. Be You.” with a little artistic photography post. Let us celebrate and start the new year off with the motivation to be who we truly are–Be Daring. Be Fabulous. Be You.

Do not be scared–Be Daring! Do not be timid–Be Fabulous!  Do not get Entangled by the NormBe You!

Daring To Be Different

by Everlife

My first thought said
With no line, you’ll get lost this time
If you don’t know where you’re going
My second thought said
It’s okay, okay to change
It’s time you started growing

So there I stood without a clue
My head tried to tell me what to do
My heart started playing tug-of-war
Like it’s out of my hands

IMG_0005

To be fearless, when I’m scared to move
I’m overdue
Daring to be different
To scream, yes, yeah I’m awake
I will not break
Daring to, daring to be different

The whole world tells me
If I choose wrong
I won’t belong
I better make the right decision
But what they do and
What they say
Are not the same
They’re a spinning contradiction

It’s just the old that they call new
Dizzy from all the points of view
Closing my eyes while breathing in
Look up, let go, no hands

IMG_0003

To be fearless, when I’m scared to move
I’m overdue
Daring to be different
To scream, yes, yeah I’m awake
I will not break
Daring to, daring to be different

Different, different

To be fearless when I’m scared to move
I’m overdue
Daring to be different
To scream, yes, yeah I’m awake
I will not break
Daring to, daring to be different
