It’s finally Thursday, which means I finally get to share this week’s three-ways-to-wear styling challenge! Whoo hoo!
I am a huge fan of light pink and pleated apparel, so when I spotted this skirt at Forever 21…it was love at first sight! Before purchasing this pink ‘n pleated skirt, I thought to myself…How many different ways can I style this? Will I get a lot of wear out of it? Well, off the top of my head, I was able to create six different looks! Ah! How fabulous?! And for this week’s Three Ways to Wear Thursday, I am going to show y’all three of those–y’all will have to come back next Thursday to see the final three *wink*
To help celebrate the two year anniversary of VIP, I decided to follow up with another one of my favorite handmade jewelry artisans. This fabulous jewelry artisan was one of the very first I interviewed, and today is Throwback Thursday…soooo…I re-introduce you to Heather O’Cain of BluKat Design! *holding flashing “applaud” sign* *DJ, cue Lady Gaga’s Applause*
Heather creates fabulous handmade earrings, necklaces, hair sticks, and cute magnets that make me “o0o” and “ahh” every time she lists a new item in her Etsy shop or posts a new photo to Facebook. Whether I want to wear a fancy statement necklace or a simple pair of stud earrings, Heather O’Cain always has the perfect jewelry piece to fit my fashionista mood! Speaking of statement necklaces…Heather actually created a custom BKD statement necklace for the VIP made from my grandmother’s buttons (see photo below). When it arrived in the mail, it was like Christmas all over again! Oh, Heather always amazes me with her magnificent design talent! Okay…okay…okay, I know y’all are not here today to hear my random chit chatting–y’all are here to read about what is new with Heather O’Cain of BluKatDesign! So, come on, fabulouses–let’s go!

VIP: What’s new with BKD? Are you working on any new projects? If so…spill the beans *wink*
Heather: I’m always looking for new things to do, and right now I am working on recycled and upcycled plastic bottle jewelry. I have ideas for fabric beads and jewelry; hopefully, I will get to work on these soon! I dug out some of my unfinished art jewelry pieces I did years ago and want to do more of that also.
BKD’s Radiant Orchid necklace made from recycled Coke bottles. I think I am in love…*wink*
VIP: What is your 2014 inspiration?
Heather: A lot of my inspiration comes from fashion or social media; just meeting new peeps and seeing all the cool stuff on Pinterest and Etsy.
Earrings: BluKatDesign
VIP: Do you have a 2014 motto? If so, tell us what it is!
Heather: I’m still trying to come up with a motto for 2014; I’ve never done resolutions or had a motto!
Necklace: BluKatDesign
VIP: What color best describes you?
Heather: Bright and multicolored describes me…or at least my jewelry LOL!
Earrings: BluKatDesign
VIP: What is your favorite song of 2014 thus far?
Heather: Music? I hardly listen to music anymore, not a whole lot of talent or original ideas going on now! My craft studio is right next to the office where my husband listens to a lot of the old British Invasion music which is fun. I’m a big Led Zeppelin fan, but I don’t want to disturb my husband or neighbors, you just can’t listen to that quietly!

Hello, fabulouses! This week’s Weekly Whistle is all about a Little Green Dress–LGD. After going through my closet several weeks ago (see blog post here), I stumbled upon this Three07 LGD mixed in with my other dresses–I had forgotten all about it! How could I ever do such a thing?!
With the crazy fall weather we have here in the South, it is important to have staple pieces that can be cozied up or cooled down depending on the daily forecast. Because of its versatility, I have labeled this LGB as one of my fall staple pieces, and over the next few days I am going to show y’all how to take this dress from 70 degrees to 40 degrees with ease!
Phew, thank goodness for the versatility of my LGD!
