Lately, I have been listening to A LOT of 80s music–Genesis, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Joan Jett and the list goes on and on. So, naturally, I have been in like a totally rad, neon pink, acid wash and Miami Vice mood *said in my best Valley Girl voice*
When the winter storm hit last week and dumped about 9 inches of snow, my photographer and I took the opportunity to take some awesome outfit photos for the blog. As I was pulling items for the photoshoot, I stumbled upon a pair of funky fine (vintage) Levi’s *cue ZZ Top’s Cheap Sunglasses* that I had TOTALLY forgotten about.
In my 80s state of mind, I embraced the crazy, yellow acid-wash denim and decided to create a wearable wildcard outfit for this week’s Weekly Whistle. In the word’s of my photographer, “Wow…well, Abby–it sure it bright.” *wink*
Now, without further ado, get your 80s groove thang on and check out this week’s Weekly Whistle + outfit details! Also, be sure to pay special, close attention to the fabulous handmade bracelets!
Phew–the past few days have been quite crazy for me! I have been running through my college schedule–literally–trying to find the best routes on how to get from Class A to Class B in a reasonable amount of time…memorizing my Student ID number…and tag number. On top of that, I have been antique shopping in Johnson City and Elizabethton all day in search of items to finish my closet organization–I picked up some super amazing things that I cannot wait to show y’all..so, stay tuned to VIP Home *wink*
Anyway…where was I? Oh, my–today is Wednesday, which means it is time to take a look at the outfit of the week. Now, while y’all check out the photos (taken at Northeast State Community College…Go Bears! *wink*) + the outfit details, I am going to go indulge myself with some homemade gluten-free pizza *wink*
Today…it feels like spring has taken a spring break and left us with cold, windy, wintry weather…yuck. So, for this week’s Weekly Whistle outfit, I decided to embrace the chilly air with knee high socks and a hand knitted slouchy hat by Stephanie Grantham of Sparkle Cat Studio. (P.S. Notice that is the VIP blog colors *wink*)
Now that y’all have seen the outfit…let me give y’all a little mini VIP tour of the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum! I do not want to show y’all everything because I want y’all to visit Barber for yourselves! :)

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog for the very first outfit of the VIP March Madness outfit series! Yay!
I have been living in Alabama for a little over a year, and I have yet to accomplish the things on my Birmingham Bucket List. The first thing on my BBL was Vulcan Park, which is one of Birmingham’s most popular tourist attractions. I have been to Vulcan for parties and events, but never as a tourist. Let me tell y’all–I truly enjoyed the experience of playing tourist in my own town and being at Vulcan. Oh, it is so gorgeous! Overlooking The Magic City from the tower at Vulcan is exciting, scary, and peaceful all at the same time! Now that I have visited Vulcan during the day…I am putting “Visit Vulcan at Night” on my BBL list because I so desperately want to overlook the Birmingham skyline when it is all lit up at night. :)
