Have you ever bought a dress that was absolute PERFECTION, and wondered How in the world am I going to wear this more than one way?! OR How am I going to get my money out of this piece? Well, that’s what I thought when I bought this marvelous dress in my school colors *wink* It was a little spontaneous; however, it was totally worth it because when I got it home…I started to style it three ways *wink* Accessories really do make ALL the difference!

So, for this week’s Three Ways to Wear Thursday, I am going to show y’all three ways to wear a fabulous blue and white frock. Take a look at the outfits below + enjoy the fabulous pictures taken by my awesome hobby-photographer dad *hugs*

3 Ways to Wear Thrifted Sweatshirts

IMG_1278

There is (almost) nothing better than oversized sweatshirts when the weather outside is frightfully chilly, and one of my favorite places to find unique sweatshirts is thrift and consignment shops. *gasp* SAY WHAT?! Yes–that’s right! You wouldn’t believe how many awesome sweatshirts I have found at various thrift stores in my life. In fact, MY FAVORITE sweatshirt ever came from a thrift store in Starkville, Mississippi for $1…ONE DOLLAR!

Now, to celebrate the dreadfully crazy winter storm that is headed this way, let’s warm up with three ways to wear thrifted sweatshirts + some epic throwbacks *wink*

Weekly Whistle: Jumping Around Town in my New Jumpsuit

IMG_9723

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

It’s finally Wednesday, and y’all know what that means–it is time to see this week’s VIP Weekly Whistle outfit! Woo hoo!

AH! Honestly…I have been so very impatiently waiting to share this locally-purchased gem of a jumpsuit with y’all *wink* AND today is finally the day I can reveal ONE (just one) of the looks. You will have to stay tuned to tomorrow’s TWTWT to see the other.

IMG_9713

For this daytime look, I decided to loosely tie the cuffs of the pants to create a more casual vibe + I accessorized with stacked bracelets, a BKD knob necklace, and a handmade leather clutch from Luke & Lyla (this bag = my life) because I wanted a bit of boho glam. The knotting of the jumpsuit’s legs is a nifty little trick that is not only cute and easy, but it also saves you the embarrassment of tripping on the hem, if you’re short like me *wink* #ShortGirlProbs

So, without further ado, I reveal to y’all this week’s Weekly Whistle! Take a look + check out the amazing boutique where I got this stately piece.

All photos were taken in Historic Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Weekly Whistle: Same Accessories, Same Style, Different Look

header

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

Happy Wednesday, y’all! Ah…the weekend is half-way here–we got this *wink* I have an oil change for Leo + a photo shoot in Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia to look forward to…probably some gluten-free Mellow Mushroom too *wink*

I am always saying how accessories make all the difference, but I am sure deep down inside one of you asks do they–do they really, Abby? *wink* Well, today (and tomorrow on TWTWT) I am going to show y’all how the same accessories can transform the same style into a totally different look in a SNAP! With my life being crazy busy now, I have learned the true power of “accessories make all the difference”–especially if I wake up late or forget an appointment. :)
Last week's Weekly Whistle is what I wore to host a #BelkScene event. It featured some fabulously handmade accessories that I decided to take from "prom inspired" to "whenever/wherever inspired". Take a look at the whenever/wherever look below!

Beauty Tues: Quick, Easy & Cheap Special Occasion Manicure You Can Do Yourself

IMG_8492

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome to Beauty Tues.

Are you in dire need of a manicure, but you cannot quite squeeze the appointment into your schedule? I think we have all been there, at least one…or two…or twelve times *wink*

So, if you do not have time to go to the nail salon…what do you do?! Bring it home–of course! What?! How do you “bring the salon home”? Well, I brought the salon home from my local Walgreens by picking up a KISS gel FANTASY nail kit. It took me a total of 15 minutes to pick out the fitting nails, glue them on, and buff the tips where the glitter was a smidgen uneven. (NOTE: the instructions in the package explained that some nails may have uneven tips due to glitter–there is a small, gentle nail file enclosed to use) This particular KISS kit also came with gel sticky tabs, if you are not the glue-on-nail type *wink*

These fabulous KISS nails come in a wide variety of colors, styles, and lengths–so, take a look HERE to get an idea for your next quick n’ easy home manicure! I know which ones I will be choosing for my next event! *wink*

BONUS: THAT HANDBAG! *faints*

IMG_8491

Are you as head-over-heels for that fabulous metallic gold handbag as I am? Well, it was handmade by one of my favorite artisans Alison Aughtman of Luke & Lyla Designs. Her wearable and carryable art pieces are truly made with love and attention to detail. To find out more, click here. The gold clutch that I am sporting in the photo above is embellished with a vintage, handmade shoe clip. I am totally crushing right now *wink* Stay tuned this week for more photos featuring this AH-MAZING clutch + photos featuring one of my other favorite jewelry artisans BluKatDesign!
