Lately, I have been listening to A LOT of 80s music–Genesis, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Joan Jett and the list goes on and on. So, naturally, I have been in like a totally rad, neon pink, acid wash and Miami Vice mood *said in my best Valley Girl voice*
When the winter storm hit last week and dumped about 9 inches of snow, my photographer and I took the opportunity to take some awesome outfit photos for the blog. As I was pulling items for the photoshoot, I stumbled upon a pair of funky fine (vintage) Levi’s *cue ZZ Top’s Cheap Sunglasses* that I had TOTALLY forgotten about.
In my 80s state of mind, I embraced the crazy, yellow acid-wash denim and decided to create a wearable wildcard outfit for this week’s Weekly Whistle. In the word’s of my photographer, “Wow…well, Abby–it sure it bright.” *wink*
Now, without further ado, get your 80s groove thang on and check out this week’s Weekly Whistle + outfit details! Also, be sure to pay special, close attention to the fabulous handmade bracelets!
Two of my favorite mid-fall things to wear here in the South are socks and shorts. When it’s too hot for pants, but too cold for just shorts–I break out my fancy socks and chino shorts to create sassy and fall-inspired ensembles.
So, for this week’s Weekly Whistle, I decided to sock it to y’all…see what I did there *wink* I went a bit simple with the main components (shorts, blouse, shoes) because the socks are so stately. To make this outfit more fall-ish, I stuck to warm hues and dressed up the light-colored blouse with bronze-toned accessories.
Now, let’s take a look at the fabulous photos + outfit details! I bet y’all cannot guess where I picked up these expensive looking socks for a lovely deal *wink*
Blouse: Forever 21

Me: Oh, my goodness! I totally have that sweatshirt–I forgot all about it! *runs upstairs to room and gets sweatshirt out of closet* This is perfect for running errands and searching for Cynthia Rowley “Hurry” sneakers in black/gold at Belk today! I hope they still have some….
Mom: What is all the commotion? *okay, so maybe she didn’t say “commotion” but I like to embellish*
Me: Look what I found in my closet! I forgot all about it!
Mom: Oh, yeah! You had that on your blog last year–I have always loved that sweatshirt!
Me: I know, it’s pretty cute. I am going to wear it today to run errands and go to Belk.
Mom: Why do you need to go to Belk?
Me: To buy new shoes.
