Weekly Whistle: Funky Fine Pair of (Vintage) Levi’s Jeans

Lately, I have been listening to A LOT of 80s music–Genesis, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Joan Jett and the list goes on and on. So, naturally, I have been in like a totally rad, neon pink, acid wash and Miami Vice mood *said in my best Valley Girl voice*

When the winter storm hit last week and dumped about 9 inches of snow, my photographer and I took the opportunity to take some awesome outfit photos for the blog. As I was pulling items for the photoshoot, I stumbled upon a pair of funky fine (vintage) Levi’s *cue ZZ Top’s Cheap Sunglasses* that I had TOTALLY forgotten about.

In my 80s state of mind, I embraced the crazy, yellow acid-wash denim and decided to create a wearable wildcard outfit for this week’s Weekly Whistle. In the word’s of my photographer, “Wow…well, Abby–it sure it bright.” *wink*

Ahh….the 80s. A time where some of the best classic vinyl, hit movies, and fashions were born. From neon pink and sequins galore to Guns n’ Roses and Motley Crue to Pretty In Pink and The Breakfast Club–the 80s will forever have a place in my heart…even if I weren’t privileged enough to have been born or to have lived through the epic era *wink*

BUT…since I was NOT born in the 1980s (#90sKid), I would like to embrace the awesomeness through my 2016 wardrobe by teasing my curls, using too much hair spray, wearing lots of sparkle, and singing to David Bowie’s latest and last album, Black Star. *crying* RIP David Bowie…RIP

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

For this week’s Weekly Whistle, I am embracing my inner Amanda Seyfried from Mean Girls and wearing pink on Wednesday *wink*

Or….am I embracing my inner Molly Ringwald from Pretty In Pink? Hm…perhaps both! *wink*

Anyway…. I created this week’s Weekly Whistle outfit by shopping in my own closet and using popular items from my 30 Day J.Crew Challenge and Grand Haul shopping series with The Outlet Shops of Grand River. I love this look because it is so fresh and fun! Oh, the bright neon pink has me craving a summer adventure…a summer adventure to a beach…or a lake…or even some place I’ve never been! *wink* Hm…while I make a Summer Bucket List of places to go….check out these outfit details:
