Ahh…a new year! A time to celebrate, over-sleep, make resolutions, and break resolutions. I’m kidding–I’m kidding…we shouldn’t break resolutions this short into the new year *wink*
Over the past year, I have drifted from some of the things I love the most–blogging, writing, family and my faith; however, there is no time like the present to put the turnips back on the truck and get my life back together*wink*
Instead of making a list of resolutions and things I am going to change about myself because it is a “new year, new me,” I am simply going to make a commitment to myself, y’all (my readers) and my awesome family to become the best me I can be. I want to retreat to the roots that made me who I am and inspired me to start this blog almost four years ago.
So, VIP readers, raise your glasses of Diet Dr. Pepper (I am still upset about Pepsi switching to aspartame free–it tastes disgusting now *wink*) as we say hello to a brand new year! Here’s to a new year where I am going to dedicate my time loving myself, bettering myself and blogging like there is no tomorrow ♥ *clink*
Now, without further ado, take a look at some photos from a recent photo shoot with my fellow blogger and friend Andrew Love + have a listen to my New Year’s theme song!
All of the above photos were taken by Andrew Love.

It’s a new year, and as I have talked about this week, I am making changes to better myself physically and spiritually…BUT–it can’t be all about me *wink*
Just as I am going to be going improving myself over the next year, I am going to be improving the blog. Over the past year, I have neglected poor, little VIP because I let the stresses of college and everyday life get in the way; however, I am not going to let that stop me in 2016! Three Ways to Wear will be absolutely better than ever with epic accessory challenges, new apparel, and more how-to-wear tips! I want to get back to the way things used to be on VIP with awesome pictures, wild-card outfits, and fun-loving “dance parties” where I play DJ for a day *wink* So, I am telling y’all this so that someone will hold me accountable! I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep *whispers to herself* Should I have made that a personal New Year resolution?Hmm… Yes–definitely, definitely should *big smile*
Now, I am off to plan some awesome new photo shoots + prepare for the epic Letter From the Editor post that will be live tomorrow *happy dance* Also…I have to go the gym because it’s a new year, a new me, and I just made a promise to myself (and the World Wide Web) that I would make a resolution to keep more promises *wink*).

One of my resolutions for 2016 is to get back to my blog roots by buying and wearing more vintage, and while on a recent photo shoot with my dear friend Andrew of Snapshot Avenue, I found this AH-MAZING vintage gem at Jonesborough Antiques & Artisans. This 1980s, gold, sequined jacket/dress is an absolute power-piece, and I am tempted to slap the VIP logo on the back and wear it all of the time *wink* Oh. My. Goodness. I love sparkle…and especially vintage sparkles *wink*
This stately frock is so gold that it reminds me of one of my favorite James Bond movies, Goldfinger! Now, as you take a gander at this week’s fabulous Weekly Whistle, listen to this killer Shirley Bassey Bond theme song and get inspired to wear more gold, vintage and sequins*wink*
Holy cow! Can y’all believe it?! It is the first full week of a brand new year, and I am just now making my New Year Resolutions list *gasp* I am not sure if this procrastination is a good sign or a not-so-good sign about 2016 *wink*
Every New Year that comes and goes, we hear almost everyone say she wants to get fit and healthier over the next year, but not everyone makes it past the first few months of the challenge to become a more physically active person and healthier eater. *raises hand* Yes, I am one of those people too, and I am not going to shame myself for my past failures. *sigh* It’s a new year, I have hit a milestone in my life, and I am ready to get my life right–physically, emotionally, educationally, and spiritually. BUT…I will talk more about that in the Letter From the Editor on Friday because right now we are here to talk about the VIP’s 2016 Beauty and Health Resolutions!
