Sometimes, it is fun to dress head-to-toe in matchy-matchy outfits; however, I often like to think outside the box. From mixing leopard with flamingo to mixing navy/white with bright mint and lime green–there is just something extremely satisfying about adding a little bit of funk to the everyday work-flow outfit! I get a little bit of adrenaline rush, ya know? *wink* Okay–so maybe, fashion is my addiction, and I have no shame–ZERO SHAME *wink*
For this week’s Weekly Whistle, I styled this funky work-flow ensemble that is not only great for the office and running errands, but it is also great for catching a bite to eat after the work is done–no changing, no extra accessories, no worries *hands in air* So, without further ado, let’s take a look at this week’s absolutely smashing outfit of the week ♥
Is it just me, or does it seem like winter weather keeps creeping into the forecast? *sigh* I am so ready for consistently hot weather; however, it seems nowhere in sight. So, how do we fabulous fashionistas dress-to-impress in this outrageously hot-cold weather? WELL…I am so glad you asked *wink*
We all have a winter-to-spring wardrobe, but it is all about knowing what to do and how to do it. So, for this week’s fabulous Weekly Whistle, I am going to show y’all a simple outfit on how-to dress for hot-cold weather in style + give a few VIP quick tips. So, without further ado, let’s get this party started! *hit it DJ!*
Sweater: GAP
Shorts: Shellz (Jonesborough, TN)
Heels: Nine West, Outlet Shoppes of Grand River (Leeds, AL)
Necklace: Brooke Morgan Designs (Louisville, MS)
Play It Slow: Think about your transitional outfit like a crush on a cute, shy guy–you don’t want to jump in too quickly and make things awkward, so you play it step-by-step. Now, in the case of an outfit, you do not want to run straight into wearing light sun dresses and open-toe sandals, so reach for a cute pair of colorful shorts and a chunky sweater instead. This gives you a fabulously springy look without freezing to death when the wind blows *wink*
Be a Layering Queen: I am the worst at this because growing up in the Deep South, layering was never really needed; however, living in Northeast Tennessee has taught me the power of knowing how to layer–especially when the seasons are changing. It is important during hot-cold weather to plan an outfit layer-by-layer in order to be comfortable from day to night. It is best to think about your outfit in segments, so that as the temperature rises throughout the day, you can shed your layers and show your true, spring colors! And when the temperature goes down with the sun, you can easily add back a light jacket or cardigan to stay all warm and cozy. :)
One of my resolutions for 2016 is to get back to my blog roots by buying and wearing more vintage, and while on a recent photo shoot with my dear friend Andrew of Snapshot Avenue, I found this AH-MAZING vintage gem at Jonesborough Antiques & Artisans. This 1980s, gold, sequined jacket/dress is an absolute power-piece, and I am tempted to slap the VIP logo on the back and wear it all of the time *wink* Oh. My. Goodness. I love sparkle…and especially vintage sparkles *wink*

This stately frock is so gold that it reminds me of one of my favorite James Bond movies, Goldfinger! Now, as you take a gander at this week’s fabulous Weekly Whistle, listen to this killer Shirley Bassey Bond theme song and get inspired to wear more gold, vintage and sequins*wink*
With summer apparel going on sale, and pre-fall frocks hitting the racks, I cannot get fall off the brain–cooler temps, changing leaves, and sweaters galore! Ah…the pre-season cravings are extra strong today *wink*
So, to satisfy my wishing for fall, this week’s Weekly Whistle ensemble is all about stately styling with bold pre-fall brights and patterns! Oh, this week’s outfit of the week is a lovely combo of summer sweetness and fall fabulousness *GASP* It’s a perfect summer-to-fall transition look! Oh, my goodness! I am so excited. I can’t stop babbling *wink*
Be sure to come back tomorrow for Three Ways to Wear to see how to stately style this noteworthy skirt from J.Crew!
Phew…we’ve made it to Thursday, y’all! Just one more day until the weekend–I think we got this fabulous (and stressful) week in the bag! *wink*

For this week’s TWTWT challenge, I took my new eyelet skirt from JC Penny and wore it three fabulous ways. The special thing about this TWTWT is that I show you how simply tucking in/untucking a blouse can create two looks EFFORTLESSLY. Who would have thought?! Ah…my favorite–cute and effortless fashion *wink*
Way One:
I sported this lucky outfit on St. Patrick’s Day this year; however, I did not share it on the blog. I love the stark contrast of solid shamrock and basic black + I am always looking for an excuse to sport my green kitten heels! *wink*
Luke & Lyla Designs = my heart. I mean…how can you NOT love this handmade, pink leather cuff made from a vintage earring! Shop Lule & Lyla Designs here, and fall head-over-heels for all the loveliness!
