Beauty Tues: The “Marsala” Look with Sephora + 2015 Pantone Color of the Year

headerimagemarsala

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to Beauty Tues.

I have finally jumped on the “Pantone Color of the Year” makeup wagon with the awesome help of Sephora in Johnson City, Tenn.! After wearing this fabulous look (sans wings) for several days straight, I am starting to think that when you go “Marsala” that you never go back. *pushes normal black eyeliner to the side* Ah–it feels good to mix up my normal makeup look *wink*

Typically, I am not a huge fan of wearing colored eyeliner. Having green/blue eyes, I usually play it boring with a stormy gray or onyx; however, the 2015 Pantone Color of the Year has turned the tables. The warm and sexy hue is wearable all day–from work to nightlife–without the worry of being too stately. Also, the Marsala hue slips so neatly into the palettes I already have in my makeup bag–from earthtones to purples to deep grays–Marsala pairs beautifully with them all! So, if you have yet to experiment with this marvelous color, head out to your local Sephora to pick up a few Pantone Universe “Marsala” products or shop online here

Now, let’s take a closer look at the VIP’s “Marsala” Look:

Emerald Dress: Shopping in Your Own Closet

IMG_2707

Emerald, the 2013 Color of the Year, is “Lively. Radiant. Lush… A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony,” says www.pantone.com

Funny story–I bought my emerald green dress at The Fashion Barn in Columbus, Mississippi in fall of 2012 for some holiday events…Well, I guess that wasn’t a funny story…Who would have thought my darling emerald green dress would be Pantone’s 2013 Color of the Year! Hmm…did I mysteriously start this trend? I guess we will never know….this reminds me of the hundreds of times I tried to find out how many licks it took to get to the center of those Tootsie Roll Pops…I guess we will never know that either…Whatever was I talking about…? Oh, yes!  My emerald dress.

When I was invited to attend the Shamrocking and Shopping down the Emerald Aisles at the Shops of Grand River in Leeds, Alabama [March 15-17], I knew exactly what I was going to wear-my extraordinary emerald green dress! Oh, it was the perfect St. Patty’s Day celebration frock!

The Shamrocking and Shopping event featured wonderful family activities to bring the “Luck of the Irish” to everyone celebrating the St. Patty’s Day Weekend! To see more of this event, check out the video here!
