Weekly Whistle: Little Denim Dress

We all have that little black dress that is our go-to year-round; however, what about a little denim dress?

A denim dress is just as classic as a black one, it can be dressed up or down, and it holds a special vintage element that totally SCREAMS the late 1960s and 70s. Although the idea of wearing a denim dress might bring back nightmares of the 1990s, this beauty from Forever 21 is hardly a fashion mistake from Saved By the Bell. *wink*

So, for this week’s fabulous Weekly Whistle, I am swapping my little black dress for a little denim one. ALSO…check out the VIP’s new ‘do *wink* Thanks, Courtney Bennet of Salon Confidence, for dolling me up for a short, spring change-up with my hair. Weekly Whistle: Dreaming of a Safari Adventure

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

Woo hoo! It’s Wednesday…finally *wink* That means the work week is half way over. My brain already wants it to be the weekend because I woke up this morning thinking it was Friday. Obviously, I did not have enough coffee yesterday *wink*

Between this beautiful spring weather we are having here in Tennessee + the VIP safari theme this week–I am craving adventure…especially one to South Africa *wink* BUT since visiting South Africa is out of the picture at the moment, I am just going to show y’all this week’s Weekly Whistle + pretend I’m Meryl Streep in Out Of Africa (minus the scene where she battles the lion–that’s just too scary for this chickadee).

I changed up the accessories in this week’s Weekly Whistle to show how something as simple as a different belt can take an ensemble from event-to-event in a snap…or a buckle, if you will *wink*

TGIF! Phew…I thought Friday would never get here! *wink* But it is here, so let us welcome the weekend with open arms and a new outfit!

To create today’s J.Crew Challenge look, I took yesterday’s shorts and paired them with a silk-fronted, floral sweater-tee and accessorized with simple pearls + handmade bracelets. This outfit is so chic and sassy–I cannot help but smile when wearing it:)

For this outfit, I decided to introduce two completely new pieces to the challenge. Ah! Aren’t they amazing! Oh…I just love J.Crew! I do not know what I would do without it *wink*

What I love about this look:

I love this button down and denim short combo because it can be dressy or casual by simply changing up accessories. The mixing of patterns adds a pop of personality to the simple black ‘n blue hues creating a subtle yet stately look.

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the J.Crew Challenge!

Whoo hoo! What did y’all think about that first outfit? I loved how the photos turned out! Big shout out to my pretty amazing photographers *wink*

To create outfit #2, I kept the cutesy green skirt and combined it with a collegiate-style tee, denim ball cap, and silver menswear shoes. I adore this look because it is can take me from campus to coffee to ball game effortlessly!
