Letter From the Editor: Not-So-Beach-Bound

Orange is the new black? *wink*
Orange is the new black? *wink*

This week has been all about my love for all things beachy and nautical. I have fond memories of Biloxi Beach and Ocean Springs, and I remember Paw Riley walking me out to deeper water because I was too afraid of jellyfish to do it alone….Yes, there is just something about the beach that makes us all slow down and enjoy life.

As I have gotten older, life has become to0 fast to slow down for beach time, and it doesn’t help that I still have a massive fear of a jellyfish stinging my leg. I mean…come on, y’all–jellyfish are pretty scary *wink*

So, for this week’s Letter From the Editor, I am going to scrapbook a few of my favorite beach photos from days gone by.

My Deddy and I making sandcastles. Having a dad with an engineer-brain came in handy when trying to build the biggest and baddest sandcastles on the beach.

My Paw Riley, Maw Maw, and I at Biloxi beach in 2002. My grandmother is one of the biggest lovers of the beach I know *wink*

The parents and I went back to Biloxi in 2011 for the first time since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Six years after the cat. 5 hurrican swept the coast, there was still drift wood from houses that were destroyed and debris left behind from the casinos.
