Hello, fabulouses, and welcome to the 2014 J.CREW CHALLENGE! Ahh!
Can you believe it is finally here! Oh, it’s as exciting as Christmas morning. You know there are presents under the tree…you can see them…you can count how many…BUT you do not know what’s inside. Oh, decorating my apartment for Christmas is going to be so much fun! I think I want a navy blue tree with silver and gold decorations! Wouldn’t that be fab!
Okay–I am so sorry, y’all…I am quite distracted today. Perhaps three Pumpkin Spice Lattes were two cups too many *wink* Now, before I get distracted by something else, let’s take a look at the FIRST outfit of the 2014 J.Crew Challenge. Whoo hoo!
Oh, my goodness! I cannot believe it–the J.Crew Challenge is finally back! It’s been a full YEAR now…phew, time sure does fly when you are having fun *wink*
Before I reveal the very first outfit of the brand new J.Crew Challenge tomorrow, I want to give a little info on how many pieces I am going to be working with this year + how many outfits I have planned + a brief throwback to some of the hottest outfits from the 30 Day J.Crew Challenge! Ah–we have lots to do, so let’s quit our lollygagging and get to work *wink*
For this year’s J.Crew Challenge, I will be working with 16 items (that’s 4 more than last year) to create a variety of lovely looks. It is going to be so fabulous, and I cannot wait to share all of the awesome outfits with y’all!
For all of the new readers out there, here are the goals of the VIP J.Crew Challenge:
Encourage y’all to invest in quality and versatile clothing items and accessories.
Inspire y’all to get your money’s worth out of your apparel.
Now, let’s take a look back at five of the hottest J.Crew outfits from last year’s 30 Day J.Crew Challenge. Whoo hoo!
Whoo hoo! I am so excited that I did not miss Round 2 of the Southern Snowpocalypse because this Southern girl likes to have photo shoots in the snow *wink*
Two weeks ago, I missed a wintry snow mix that crippled the city of Birmingham. As y’all may recall, I was Stranded in the Hometown. BUT this time, I was home as snug as a bug in a rug, and I am so happy that I got to enjoy the snowy awesomeness of winter storm Pax. Oh, it was so delightful! Fluffy snow in the Deep South–now, that is something that I can take once or twice in a couple of years *wink*
Okay–I think that is enough chit chat for now because I am just dyingto show y’all some of the fabulous pictures from the snow day–I mean–night *wink* Be sure to check out the VIP Facebook page for the rest of the pictures! Now without further ado, I present to you the VIP’s photo shoot in the snow!
After the photo shoot, we decided to have a bit of more fun…*wink*
Making a snow angel…on my deck…in 3 inches of snow…like a boss *wink*
Eating chocolate chip cookies in the snow…at night. I guess I can check that off of my bucket list!
Selfie with my Giant Schnauzer, Ziva. Both of the furbabies, Mattie (Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier) and Ziva, enjoyed the snow:)OH MY GAH. SNOW. *wink*
My goodness! I am so happy to be back home in Birmingham with my Charter high-speed internet and a Starbucks that is 2.1 miles from my house; however, spending time in my hometown was nice–spending time with old friends and family, revisiting some of my favorite photo shoot spots, and taking walks in the pasture listening to the calm silence that exists in the middle of nowhere…
Now, enjoy some photos from our adventure! Please note that my mom is quite possibly the worst iPhone photographer ever *wink*
Diet Dr. Pepper–when you are stranded without a Starbucks…it is the next best thing *wink*Ziva (Giant Schnauzer), Mattie (Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier), and the VIP taking a walk in the pasture. Ahh….the fresh air.Revisiting an old photo shoot spot with the furbabies.
After two days of being in Louisville, we were finally given the “clear” to head back to Birmingham. Roads were still a bit icy in patches, but God blessed us so greatly because we could have been stranded on the side of the road rather than stranded in the hometown :)
There was still a bit of snow to enjoy once we got back to Birmingham:)Leaving my mark in the snow *wink*Ziva (Giant Schnauzer) and the VIP being silly with Paw Riley’s scarecrow.Ziva is a snow baby rather than a snow bunny *wink*
Check out the video below to see Ziva enjoying the rest of the snow while sporting one of my sweatshirts–yes, my dog is spoiled rotten *wink*
Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to Throwback Thursday!
Hop in the time machine with me, and let’s blast back in time to January 17, 2013 when Winter Storm Iago coated Birmingham with a lot of snow–in Southern terms…”a lot of snow” really means “we got about an inch, and it is all melted by the next day.” *wink*
As I reminisce about this blog, the best part and most fun of that Southern blizzard was playing with the dogs in the snow–I tried to convince my mom to come out and help me build a snowman; however, she insisted on staying inside the covered porch. I cannot say that I blame her…we do not have the proper attire for playing in snow. Anyway, that day was absolutely marvelous…I wish we would get snow more often–don’t tell my dad I said that because he has a strong dislike for snow *wink*

Now, without further ado, I reveal never before seen photos from the fun time the pups and I had during our Alabama Snow-tacular last year. Enjoy!
Making my mark in the cul-de-sac by writing “Miss VIP” or “Vintage Inspired Passionista” everywhere *wink*Mattie (Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier) aka “The Baby” and Ziva (Giant Schnauzer) aka “Whiny Britches” playing in the snow.La la la! Mattie and the VIP frolicking in the snow.Ziva decided that she did not have time to take pictures…only time to play, play, play!
Note: Lying in the street is never a good idea–do not try this at home, kids! One should never make snow angels in the street…but I live in the cul-de-sac, and I’m a professional…so, it’s okay? Right?! *wink*
