Weekly Whistle: 2 Vintage-Inspired Ways to Wear Army Green

Ahh…vintage-inspired–my favorite! Who would have guessed that *wink*

At the mall the other day, I stumbled upon this army green beauty on the sale rack at Charming Charlie for 50% off. In love with the deal and vintage flare, I had to get it! But upon getting it home, I asked myself, what in the world am I going to do with a dark green dress this spring/summer?!

Well, good thing I asked myself *wink* Although the solid frock is a little plain, it can easily be dressed up or down with the right accessories! Now, I think we need some tunes to get us in the mood for this fabulous outfit–HIT IT DJ! *wink*

Why I love it:

I love this little green dress because it is so versatile! Whether it be a night out on the town or lunch with friends, no matter the time of year, I can see this dress becoming one of my staple frocks! PLUS…I got it for a heck of a deal *wink*

VIP Quick Tip:

When wearing darker hues in the spring, it is important to add color with accessories. Slip on a colorful belt and fun pair of heels or opt for silver jewelry instead of gold because gold tends to be more fall-esque when worn with army green. Also, when dressing up army green for an evening event, layer black and sparkly/silver jewelry for an elegant yet season-friendly ensemble.

Special thanks to the VIP fans who tuned in for the live blogging/social media broadcast of the DSW Shoe Love Party at Colonial Brookwood Village in Birmingham! It was so much fun getting to work with B-Metro Magazine and Erica Bunker of D.I.Y. Style for this shoe-tacular event, and I am so pumped that I was able to share it with all of you…LIVE! I mean, come on…how fabulous was that?!

Now, I want to share with y’all the shoe-tacular (I just love that word! Shopping In Your Own Closet: Crazy About Dots!

Hello, hello, hello, my lovely fashionistas! Welcome back to the VIP blog on this wonderful day! In Alabama, the weather is sunny and 65 degrees-ahh….makes me ready for spring break…ooo! and spring fashion! But, I am not here to talk about how desperate I am for a full week of sunny, warm weather! So, let’s get started with what ensemble the VIP created this week by shopping in her own closet….

As I was rumbling through the boxes of clothes I have yet to unpack from the move, I stumbled upon a forgotten treasure…my vintage polka-dot skirt! This glorious moment spawned the idea of a “dot-on-dot ensemble”…but what accessories? Hot pink, of course! The VIP simply adores polka dots and hot pink!
