Hello, hello, hello my lovely fashionistas! Phew! What a week it has been! Studying for exams, traveling, deciding what card to get mom for Mother’s Day–Could someone please make decent cards for mom’s who only have one child? Wait…What was I talking about again…anyway…it is that wonderful time of the week that we all know and love…WEEKLY WHISTLE TIME! Come on, VIP fans, let’s see what the VIP’s two outfits of the week are! Yep, I said two…It was too hard to decide!
Oh, the Town and Gown Soiree Sociale was so much fun! Special thanks to Rebecca Tabb of R. Tabb. & Co. for letting Town and Gown host the unveiling of the May issue at her amazing store! If you are ever in the Starkville/Columbus area, stop by R. Tabb & Co. for a FABULOUS shopping experience that you will love! R. Tabb & Co. has so many cute clothes and accessories to offer all fashionistas!
It was such an amazing experience to attend the Alpha Xi Delta UAB Scholarship Tea! Deciding on what college to attend is quite the challenge, but the amazing ladies of the Alpha Xi Delta chapter answered many of my questions about UAB campus life. Wow…hard to believe I turn eighteen in November, and go to college in a year….where has the time gone? Wait, that’s what my mom is supposed to say! :)
Okie dokie, fashionistas! That seems to be all the time I have for today! Off to my closet, to style my outfit for an interview by The Cobalt Club tomorrow! Instead of my interviewing, I am being interviewed….Oh, looks like the tables have been turned! It is going to be so much fun–I absolutely cannot wait!
Hello, fantastic fashionistas! The VIP has been quite busy covering Birmingham Fashion Week events and working on new blog/newspaper articles. Phew! I think I need another Starbucks run!
Last night’s [February 27] event was the first annual BFW Lifestyle (Mind, Body, and Soul) runway show. The event featured three07, State Traditions, the Pants Store, Pure Barre (presenting Karma wear), Faith Skate Supply, and Luluemon Athletica Summit. Without further ado, I present to you the view of the BFW Lifestyle (Mind, Body, and Soul) runway show through the lens of a photographer.
Regarded as one of Birmingham’s top photographers, Zack Carpenter brings the world of photography and innovation together, to achieve high quality imagery, at low quality cost.
Zack Carpenter is an accomplished photographer from Trussville, Alabama. One of his fondest memories being him taking his mother’s medium format camera and shooting shots of whatever was in front of him. Interestingly enough, not much has changed except, the technology.
With specialties in High Fashion and General Portraiture, his works are often described as “dynamic” because of his innovative use of lighting in portraiture, “esoteric” because of his uncommon techniques that make his photos truly one of a kind, and “fascinating” because of his ability to capture true emotion.
Zack’s true success came after he shot Birmingham Fashion Week in February 2012. Just days after the event, designers took notice of his images and began requesting them. Zack has had requests from fashion celebrities Lauren Leonard of the Leona collection, former Project Runway contestant Christopher Collins, and Gerard Maione (co-owner of What Goes Around Comes Around, which is one of the world’s top vendors of vintage Chanel items).
His most recent project was with designer to the stars, Heidi (Standridge) Elnora, who appeared on season two of Project Runway. His incredible images are in Alabama Wedding, About Town, and B-Metro magazines.
Zack believes that anyone can take pretty pictures, but it takes a true photographer to create and capture a lasting memory.
