Letter From the Editor: Winsome Easel Calligraphy Workshop

20160206_094836

Last weekend, I attended my first ever calligraphy class at Reclaimed Inspired Goods in downtown Johnson City with Winsome Workshop by Winsome Easel owner Kristin Hornstein. It was so much fun, and I have practiced almost everyday since! Oh–y’all! Kristin has given me the technique + confidence to better my calligraphy while also developing my own unique style. I cannot wait until Winsome Workshop comes back to Johnson City because I will definitely be checking my calendar to attend *wink*

Day 1 of calligraphy. I wrote one of my favorite Hemingway quotes--"Write hard and clear about what hurts."

Day 2--I played around with this quote I found on Pinterest. Still a little shaky in technique but practice makes perfect *wink*

Three Ways to Wear Thursday: 3 Ways to Layer Necklaces to Make a Statement

IMG_9124

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

Hopefully, we are all surviving the arctic blast, and no one has gotten her tongue stuck to an icicle *wink* Last night, the “real feel” got down to -11 before I fell asleep. I repeat, NEGATIVE ELEVEN. What?! This Deep South gal is NOT used to weather below 30, much less below 0! *eep*

Now, while I warm up my Starbucks from earlier this afternoon, y’all take a look at this week’s TWTWT which is all about layering necklaces to create the perfect statement–cold weather edition *wink*

NOTE: Keep in mind that layering necklaces is easy as pie! By layering different lengths, metals, and colors, you can create a one-of-a-kind statement that is sure to pop with any ensemble. With the weather super cold out, adding a sweet layered jewelry look adds a bit of sass to a puffy vest or bland turtleneck sweater :)

WAY ONE:

Weekly Whistle: Paint It Black & Floral

IMG_8979

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog!

It is Wednesday, and y’all know what that means…IT IS TIME TO SEE THE VIP’S OUTFIT OF THE WEEK! Yay!

For this week’s VIP Weekly Whistle, I am turning it black (like the Rolling Stones told me to do) and floral because it is one of my favorite patterns *wink*

To top off this rockin’ ensemble, I slipped on an awesome handmade necklace from BluKatDesign. Every time I look at this necklace, I think about The Black Keys’s newest album “Turn Blue”…perhaps my love of rock n’ roll is getting out of hand *wink*

Now, while I go binge watch Big Bang Theory, y’all take a look at this fabulous OOTW + details and let me know what ya’ think in the comments section at the end of this post :) Thank y’all dearly!

unnamed (25)

Hello, fabulouses, and welcome back to the blog for another outfit in action! Whoo Hoo!

Today, I stopped by South Boutique (Trussville, AL) to do a little shopping and to say congrats on the one year anniversary. Not only was there delicious cake, but also a fabulous handmade jewelry artisan–Krista Lovelady of KristaLize jewelry was there with her sweet gems!  South has a wonderful variety of cute clothes and home decor–so cute that I had a hard time deciding on what to get! Finally after lots of chit chatting with my mom and thinking about things in my closet, I decided on a skirt and shirt from South and a super fabulous necklace from KristaLize. Sh…I am going to keep the goodies I got on the down low for now…Y’all will have to stay tuned to the blog to find out more *wink*
