Hello, hello, hello, my lovely fashionistas! Today on the VIP, we are going to be Kicking Off Fabulous February! Whoo Hoo! Let’s flashback for just a moment to yesterday’s blog “Buh-Bye January, Hello Fabulous February”. I told all of you that I had a super secret blog to kick off February…BIRMINGHAM FASHION WEEK 2013! So, in honor of the upcoming event, I want to take a look back at BFW 2012! So, join me as I reminisce BFW 2012 with a few pictures!

Shopping in Your Own Closet: Little Red Dress

Welcome back, fashionistas! If y’all have been keeping up with me on Facebook, I dropped a hint that there was going to be a new weekly segment on the VIP blog. Well, get excited because “Shopping in Your Own Closet” is here and ready to be ever so fabulous!

Lately, I have been going through my closet and finding clothes to donate. During the process, I stumbled upon a lovely floral dress that my Aunt Carol had given me! I skipped off in joy to find my mom to tell her of the precious frock I had found! She nodded her head with approval and waved me off to continue cleaning out…she was on the phone, and after all these years, you would think I would learn not to bother my mom when she was on the phone. I digress!

That little red dress got me to thinking….hmmm shopping in your own closet for a totally precious outfit…what a great blog that would make! Bam! Tah-dah! Yay! The new segment was born, and I owe it all to my Aunt Carol and the little red dress!

Oh, “Closet Shopping” makes me ever so happy! Discovering precious dresses, fancy skirts, and comfy sweatshirts that I forgot I had is the best feeling in the world-besides a facial. I love facials…and manicures…and pedicures…and trips to the hair salon…I am feeling in the need of some girly pampering! Oops, off topic again, let’s talk tips now, shall we?

OMG it’s 2013: Part Two

Hello and welcome back, fashionistas! I know you have all been waiting patiently for part two of the “OMG it’s 2013″…No home depot aprons or house renovation talk–just fabulous fashion, gorgeous heels, and amazing ensembles to kick off this new year in style…So without further ado , I present to you “OMG It’s 2013: Part Two”!

Fashion Talk Time! Drum roll, please…The VIP’s top trends for the new year are….

Monochromatic ensembles: They are so simple, yet so glamorous-every fashionista needs one!
Floral Apparel: Lovely floral jeans, skirts, and blouses are ever so vintage and bring a smile to faces of the young and young-at-heart.
Handmade Jewelry: Ooo! handmade jewelry! The VIP just loves Etsy! Etsy is a fantastic way to discover amazing jewelry artisans who put so much effort into their work! Ladies like Lisa Hamilton of Beadsoul, Rachel Leathers of Hearts of Stone Jewelry, and Heather O’Cain of BluKatDesign are some super sweet women who will strive to make beautiful pieces of statement jewelry.

Weekly Whistle: OMG it’s 2013

Welcome back, fashionistas! I hope you all have had a fabulous New Year! It is the first Weekly Whistle of 2013! Wow…makes me think about what an adventure 2012 was for the VIP! I began my blog in February 2012, and in June, I gained the opportunity to write my own column in The Real Story called “The Adventures of the VIP”. Then, in October, I started writing and styling outfits for Town and Gown Magazine! I could not have gained all of these opportunities if it were not for all of you, my fantastic, fashionable, and fabulous readers! All of the fan emails and comments have made me work harder to achieve my dream of spreading the love of fashion-VIP style! Once again, thank you, fans, for all of your support! I cannot wait to see what 2013 has in store for me, Miss VIP!
