“Finding My Way is a Pop, R&B style—the lyrics are real, honest, and exciting, ” says Gabriel as we chatted at his album release party. “There were no corners cut creating this album—all live instruments and incredible musicians.”

When and how did you become interested in music?

“I grew up around music—grew up taking piano lessons which later transitioned into playing the clarinet and saxophone. I did not sing in high school, but I went to a small art college and they had an acapella choir there. So, I told my friends I’d give it a shot, I tried out, and they told me I could sing—I started to believe them after a little while. I began to play guitar soon after that.”

Who or what inspires your music?

“My inspiration comes from my own life, relationships I have had, and just growing up in general. As far as the music underneath it, I can’t really say. I just grew up listening to a lot of different styles of music artists–who have influenced me today”

What is your favorite song from the Finding My Way album?

“I would have to say Weight of the World, which is inspired by the situations I have been through. My early 20s were not a fun time—just growing up and trying to find my place in the world and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. Basically, Weight of the World was a letter to myself.”

When and where are you looking to start touring?

“Probably in the fall or spring. We will be touring regionally to places like Atlanta, Nashville, and D.C.”
